DCS Youth Valley Resource Room
Foster children are often at a disadvantage among their peers in permanent living situations, and as they “age out,” can find themselves struggling to get a job to support an independent lifestyle. This is why job skills, job search and resume training is so important for these young adults to transition successfully into the world.
Our donation of laptops, monitors and other accessories to the Young Adult Program through Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) expands resources for young adults to drop in and work on resumes, job applications, college applications, etc. in their Youth Resource room. All of these tools help to develop them into individuals who can compete, learn and excel after they have left their foster homes.
LEARN MORE Foster Youth Network To expand college access and success for foster youth, Moreno Valley College, Norco College, and Riverside City College created the Foster Youth Support Network FYSN , which provides a comprehensive suite of services designed to create a connected and coordinated safety net for foster youth transitioning from high school. LEARN MORE This program works to provide California State and Riverside County mandated continuing education classes for approved Resource Families.
